CITY TOUR CUSCO

The city of Cusco, founded in 1100 AD, is the oldest city still inhabited in the Western Hemisphere; built in a mountainous region, considered among the most beautiful of the planet, Cusco was once the flourishing capital of the Inca Empire. In 1982, UNESCO awarded Cusco the title of World Heritage, and in South America it is considered the Archaeological Capital of America. Without a doubt the Imperial City of Cusco is the most important tourist destination in Peru because of our most important emblem the citadel of Machu Picchu. Its historical center enhances its beauty of its churches and its 16th-17th century Cathedral with its typical streets that combine its Inca walls and colonial houses, are one of the great stages that invite our tourists to discover its culture. Our ancestors full of traditions, historical legacies and customs that are shared from generation to generation enriches the history of our Country. ITINERARY

The pickup from your lodging will be between 1:30 and 2:00 in the afternoon. After the pickup we will start with the city tour, which will begin at the temple of Qoricancha also known as the Inti Cancha (Sun House) which was an important shrine especially to the Sun God. We will see some other venues such as the Temple of the Rainbow and some monoliths then we will go with our bus to SACSAYHUAMAN which is located 3 km from the city. It was an important place of worship to different deities. You will get to see their huge lithic walls which can measure over 9m / 30ft high and where the most important festival of the Incas, the Inti Raymi (Sun party), was held. Continuing with our excursion we will arrive at Qenqo where they made religious sacrifices and is also a place dedicated to astronomy as well as where we will enjoy an amphitheater. Then we will go to Puca Pucara considered a military and control point for the people that made their entrance to the imperial city. Finally we will arrive at Tambomachay it is also known as the (baths of the Inca) but it was a very important place where they held ceremonies for the worship of water as well as for the importance of agriculture. After having visited this last place we will return to the city of Cusco and rest at the hotel.

To be able to enter these archaeological sites it is necessary that you buy or acquire the TOURIST TICKET which you can obtain in the first place of visit. The cost is S /. 130.00 soles which is valid for 10 days to be able to visit the 16 tourist attractions and with the student card (ISIC) it is S /. 70.00 soles. it is important that the same ticket is used for your visit to the sacred valley and other attractions but if you want to visit a single place you may buy a partial ticket that is S / .70.00 soles which is valid only for 1 day.
