TOUR MACHUPICCHU FULL DAY

Our train of the one day tour to Machu Picchu takes you on one of the most incredible train journeys in the world. Following the route of the Urubamba River to the cloud forest that surrounds the citadel of Machu Picchu and you will enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the high Andes along the route as well as some archaeological sites and glaciers that are part of the Cordillera of the Vilcanota.

Machu Picchu is considered a masterpiece of architecture and engineering. Its architectural features and landscape as well as the great diversity of flora and fauna of the cloud forests surround the whole sacred citadel of Machu Picchu. The magic and mystery of Machu Picchu are internationally recognized and considered today as a sacred place. It is considered by UNESCO, since 1982, as part of a cultural and ecological site known as the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and since 2007 it became part of the exclusive group of the 7 new wonders of the planet.

Itinerary

Pick up from the hotel and transfer to the train station to go for the all day tour in the magical Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, which is 112 km. from Cusco. During the trip you can see the Urubamba canyon, the Vilcanota River, and the spectacular snow-capped Victoria Mountain. We will arrive in the town of Aguas Calientes to take the buses and go to Machupicchu, which is located at 2400 meters, the bus ride takes 25 minutes to the citadel where we will visit this wonderful Sanctuary also known as “The Lost City of the Incas” one of the best known examples of Inca architecture that still survives. You will have a guided tour for an average of 2 and half hours. In this tour you can see all the most important sectors, after the visit we will return to Aguas Calientes to have lunch. After the guided tour it will depend on the tourist whether or not to stay at the sanctuary until the indicated time of your train ticket back to the city of Cusco.

These train services are only to OLLANTAYTAMBO where we will pick you up by bus and take you back to the city of Cusco, taking into account that there is only one direct service being the Expeditions train and there is another service that is the Vistadonne which is the first class service having to add the difference between these two trains, all these services are used in high season.

The time depends a lot on the train schedule that is granted to you. You need to be at the station half an hour before the departure of your train. Please be aware that the rates are subject to change or readjustment by the MINISTRY OF CULTURE and PERU RAIL S.A (train company).
